Prayer is powerful. It helps us to center ourselves on God, and on his purpose in our lives.
As followers of Christ, we are called to live life and engage culture in a spirit of dependence upon God; we are to pray without ceasing (1 Thess. 5:17). As you enter into the world, do so with a prayerful heart. Ask God to show you the path He has for you, and to surround you with the help you need along the way.
Only God can enable us to recognize and reject those things that are harmful, false and ugly in our world, and help us celebrate the good and joyful things. By asking God to give us the perspective of His Spirit, “the Spirit who searches out all things, even the depths of God” (1 Cor. 2:10), we can begin to discern between the things which are true, beautiful, and good and the things that are false, ugly, and evil.
Then, we can go out and share the beauty with our culture, and put the false and ugly things behind us.
